                                                                  H.R. No. 452



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On November 17, 2002, Carl and Tommie McDaniel of 
Midland celebrated 55 years of marriage and a lifetime of happiness 
together; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel and the former Tommie Sue Casey were 
wed on November 17, 1947, in Robert Lee, Texas; the ensuing years 
have brought the couple many wonderful times, as they have 
supported one another in each of life's endeavors; and
	WHEREAS, In 1963, the McDaniels moved to Midland, where Mr. 
McDaniel worked in the oil industry; five years later the two 
founded McDaniel Drilling Company, a water-well drilling business 
from which they retired in 1993; and
	WHEREAS, Taking great pride in their family, the McDaniels 
have seen their circle grow to include a treasured daughter, 
Charlene Long of Stanton, and two beloved grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, This joyous union has yielded a relationship built 
on trust, understanding, and mutual respect; with more than five 
decades of cherished memories, a loving family, and many close 
friends, the McDaniels truly have reason to celebrate; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Carl and Tommie McDaniel on their 
55th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
