                                                                  H.R. No. 455



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 
who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is truly a 
momentous event worthy of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Jack and Peggy Norris of Midland recently 
commemorated this noteworthy event in their lives when they 
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a family vacation 
in Ruidoso, New Mexico; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Norris and the former Peggy Hays were united in 
marriage on December 19, 1952, at a ceremony in Abilene, the home of 
the couple's alma mater, Abilene Christian University; following 
their union, they lovingly raised three daughters, Debbie, Deana, 
and Dixi, and made invaluable contributions to the Lone Star State 
as accomplished educators; and
	WHEREAS, Since exchanging their vows half a century ago, Mr. 
and Mrs. Norris still look forward to each day with the same sense 
of adventure that first sparked their romance, and it is a privilege 
and a pleasure to honor these dedicated citizens on their five 
decades together as husband and wife; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Peggy Norris on the joyous 
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend warmest 
best wishes for many more years of continued happiness; and, be it  
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Norris as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
