R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On November 23, 2002, Tommy and Verna Dawson 
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family 
at Golf Course Road Church of Christ; and
	WHEREAS, The couple married November 25, 1952, in Marathon, 
Texas; after moving to Denver and San Marcos, the Dawsons settled in 
Midland in 1957; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dawson have raised two lovely 
daughters, Michele Crenwelge of Lubbock and Linda Holtzclaw of 
Midland, and have seen their family grow to include three beloved 
grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, The Dawsons are valued members of the Midland 
community, where they have lived for 45 years; now enjoying 
well-deserved retirement, Mr. Dawson served in the U.S. Air Force 
civil service before going to work for the Permian Corporation, and 
Mrs. Dawson was employed by Enserch Exploration, Inc.; and
	WHEREAS, For five decades this devoted couple have supported 
one another through trials and triumphs and the commitment they 
share is a source of great pride to their family and many friends; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Tommy and Verna Dawson on their 
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dawson as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
