R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On November 24, 2002, W. A. and Billie Womack observed a joyous occasion in their marriage as they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at First Christian Church of Midland; and WHEREAS, Mr. Womack exchanged wedding vows with the former Billie Charlyne Gerhard on November 27, 1952, in Fort Worth; over the course of their close and enduring relationship, the couple have demonstrated a deep love, trust, and respect for each other, and they remain a source of inspiration to their family and many friends; they take great pride in their two children, William Rhea Womack and Lori Beth Bryant, and three grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Womack is an independent petroleum geologist, and he and Mrs. Womack made their home in Abilene, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City before moving to Midland in 1971; the couple are respected residents of their community and members of First Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, and the M-Square Dance Club; and WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Womack have shared the trials and triumphs of five decades, and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate W. A. and Billie Charlyne Womack on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest wishes for good fortune and happiness in the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Womack as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
