H.R. No. 468


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, R. E. and Gladys Womack of Midland celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on October 28, 2002, with a surprise dinner hosted by Ken and Bennie Kuykendall, Billie Perry, D. Ray McCarthy, and Ruth Dygert; and WHEREAS, United in matrimony on October 20, 1934, in Olton, Mr. and Mrs. Womack have been blessed with two daughters, Lois Mulkey and Joyce Adams; they have also proudly welcomed the arrival of five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Womack moved to Midland in 1955 after having lived in Olton and San Angelo; the former Gladys Gallaway, Mrs. Womack has been a devoted and caring homemaker, while Mr. Womack worked in the banking industry for 24 years, with positions at Central National Bank in San Angelo and Commerce Bank in Midland; and WHEREAS, Valued members of their community for nearly half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Womack attend First United Methodist Church and belong to the Westside Lions Club; and WHEREAS, These two Texans have nurtured a strong bond of love while building an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a pleasure to honor them for all they have accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate R. E. and Gladys Womack on the joyous occasion of their 68th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Womack as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
