R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Earl Randolph Bruno on June 24, 2002,
at the age of 83, brought a great loss to the friends and family of
this esteemed Kerrville resident; and
WHEREAS, Born June 11, 1919, Mr. Bruno attended Schreiner
College and later joined the Army Air Corps, where he attained the
rank of captain; on completing military service, he continued his
higher education at Texas A&M and Texas A&I universities, earning
degrees in petroleum engineering, chemistry, and natural gas
processing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bruno applied his considerable knowledge to his
positions with Ada Oil Company, Western Natural Gas, and McCullough
Oil Corporation, and he was also a successful independent oil and
gas producer; and
WHEREAS, A deeply civic-minded individual, he served his
community as a board member of such organizations as Schreiner
College, New Horizons Children's Home, and YMCA of Midland, and he
was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church of
Kerrville; and
WHEREAS, Earl Bruno was a man who truly embraced life and its
possibilities; although his love and friendship will be missed by
all who knew him, his remarkable spirit will live on in the hearts
of those whose lives he touched during his time on this earth; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Earl Randolph Bruno
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
wife, Barbara Bruno; to his daughter, Penny Patricia Bruno; to his
sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Randolph Bruno, Jr., and his wife,
Debbie, and Frank Lee Bruno and his wife, Donna; to his
grandchildren, Evan, Weston, and Brittany Bruno; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Earl Bruno.
