R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a momentous occasion 
in the lives of two people, and Joe and Norma Stripling of Lindale 
recently celebrated such an occasion with a dinner hosted by their 
children and a Caribbean cruise; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on February 14, 1953, Mr. and 
Mrs. Stripling have been blessed with one daughter, Beverly 
Bridges, and one son, Carey Stripling; they also are the proud 
grandparents of three grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Stripling is retired from Southwestern Bell 
Telephone Company, where she worked as an area manager; Mr. 
Stripling, who served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, 
is retired from Equifax Services and now has the time to enjoy his 
gardening; and
	WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. 
Stripling are active congregants of the First Baptist Church in 
Lindale; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, the Striplings have shared an 
enduring union filled with happy times and cherished family 
memories, and it is a privilege to honor them at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Norma Stripling on the 
joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to 
them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stripling as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
