H.R. No. 550
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Rudolph A. Ritter, Sr., of San
Antonio on March 22, 2002, has deeply saddened the family and many
friends of this esteemed gentleman; and
WHEREAS, Admired for his inspiring patriotism, Mr. Ritter
served his country with distinction as a member of the United States
Army during a career that spanned 21 years; he was a veteran of
three tours of duty in Vietnam and a recipient of a Bronze Star; and
WHEREAS, Married for 41 years, Mr. Ritter and the former
Gloria A. Tomasi exemplified mutual love, trust, and respect
throughout their journey as husband and wife, and their marriage
was blessed with four children and two grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to know Rudolph A. Ritter,
Sr., will long miss his generous spirit, and his memory will surely
live on in the minds and hearts of the many people whose lives he
touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rudolph A. Ritter,
Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to his wife, Gloria A. Ritter; to
his sons, Stephen B. Ritter, Eric J. Ritter, and Rudolph A. Ritter,
Jr., and his wife, Patricia; to his sister, Greta Ritter; to his
granddaughters, Breanna and Madeline Ritter; and to all those who
mourn the passing of this beloved man; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rudolph A.
Ritter, Sr.
