R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On April 30, 2003, Sergeant Kenneth Joseph Crissman
is retiring from the Missouri City Police Department, bringing to a
close an outstanding tenure in law enforcement that has spanned
more than 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Initially a reserve police officer, this dedicated
public servant became a full-time police officer in 1974; two years
later, he was promoted to his current rank of sergeant and, over the
years, has also held the positions of acting lieutenant and
training sergeant; and
WHEREAS, A master peace officer, Sergeant Crissman is a
certified police instructor who has taught at the Gus George Law
Enforcement Academy, the University of Houston, and Wharton County
Junior College; he has also served as a firearms instructor for his
department; and
WHEREAS, In addition to serving as a member of the police
force, Sergeant Crissman has made contributions to the public
welfare through his service in the United States Army and as a
volunteer firefighter with the local fire department; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the course of his tenure with the
Missouri City Police Department, he has set standards of
professionalism to which all in the field of law enforcement can
aspire, and it is indeed appropriate that he be honored at this
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Sergeant Kenneth Joseph Crissman on his
exemplary career with the Missouri City Police Department and
extend to him sincere best wishes for a happy and rewarding
retirement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Sergeant Crissman as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
