H.R. No. 566
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On July 31, 2000, Detective Jose Luis Falcon retired
from the Missouri City Police Department after more than 25 years of
dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, Detective Falcon began his law enforcement career in
1973 with the Harris County Sheriff's Department and joined the
Missouri City Police Department as a patrol officer the following
year; and
WHEREAS, Promoted to detective after just five years, he was
assigned to numerous high-profile criminal cases over the course of
his illustrious tenure, and his proven success in solving many of
those investigations contributed to the high esteem in which the
Missouri City Police Department is held by local residents; and
WHEREAS, Detective Falcon served as a supervising narcotics
agent with the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force from 1980 to
1985, during which time he was named 100 Club Officer of the Year
for 1984; and
WHEREAS, Detective Falcon's myriad accomplishments and
accolades include receipt of his master peace officer certification
from the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and
Education as well as numerous letters of commendation; and
WHEREAS, Serving a community for 25 years is an achievement
in and of itself, and this is particularly true in the high-risk
profession of law enforcement; through his dedicated service to his
fellow citizens, Detective Falcon has earned their lasting respect
and admiration; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Jose Luis Falcon for his many years of
exemplary service with the Missouri City Police Department and
extend to him best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Falcon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
