R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, High school junior Brittney Feltmann was named New Braunfels Junior Miss for 2003-2004 on February 22, 2003, to the delight of her parents, David and Stephanie Feltmann, and her many relatives, friends, and schoolmates; and WHEREAS, The Junior Miss title is awarded each year to a New Braunfels student who most exemplifies intelligence, talent, fitness, poise, and public speaking ability; the contest is part of America's Junior Miss program which, since the late 1920s, has provided scholarship opportunities to outstanding college-bound girls and has encouraged personal development in our nation's young people; and WHEREAS, At this year's event, the theme of which was "Rock and Roll," Ms. Feltmann earned the distinction of selling the most tickets as well as the respect and admiration of the other contestants in the Junior Miss program; an accomplished pianist, she greatly impressed the judges with her interpretation of "The Music of the Night" from the musical The Phantom of the Opera; and WHEREAS, Being named this year's New Braunfels Junior Miss is the culmination of a childhood dream for Ms. Feltmann, who began attending program events while in the seventh grade, and her efforts are to be applauded as she prepares for the statewide competition, to be held on July 19, 2003, in San Antonio; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Brittney Feltmann on winning the title of New Braunfels Junior Miss for 2003–2004 and extend to her best wishes for success in her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Feltmann as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
