H.R. No. 584



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Ministers' Wives and 
Ministers' Widows is hosting the 19th Annual Mid-South Regional 
Conference on April 4-5, 2003; and 
	WHEREAS, This notable organization is an affiliate of The 
International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' 
Widows, Inc., a nonprofit organization with a membership in excess 
of 43,000 individuals; this worldwide endeavor draws support from 
members of 103 Christian denominations and is represented in 42 
states, the District of Columbia, and 18 nations throughout five of 
the seven continents; and
	WHEREAS, All members are united in the pursuit of a number of 
common goals; among their worthy causes are cultivating 
international goodwill, promoting cultural diversity, and 
providing educational, spiritual, and financial assistance to 
young people throughout the world; and
	WHEREAS, Those attending the Mid-South Regional Conference 
will have opportunities to acquire important training and 
problem-solving skills, develop stronger interpersonal 
relationships and effective communication networks, and share in 
the joys of Christian fellowship; and
	WHEREAS, An important forum for Christian women, the 19th 
Annual Mid-South Regional Conference will undoubtedly prove to be a 
memorable occasion during which lasting friendships are made and 
new, positive endeavors are begun; now, therefore, be it 
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby recognize the 19th Annual Mid-South Regional 
Conference, which is being hosted by the Texas Association of 
Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, and extend to organizers 
and participants of this important event sincere best wishes for a 
joyous and rewarding occasion.
