H.R. No. 605
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Anne Hayden of Conroe, a teacher at Oak Ridge High
School, has achieved great success as an educator and her
exceptional efforts have earned her a Texas Excellence Award for
Outstanding Teachers; and
WHEREAS, Texans place great value on the importance of
education, for the future of the Lone Star State lies in the hands
of our children, who must be fully equipped with the skills needed
to successfully meet future challenges; and
WHEREAS, Such success would not be possible without the
commitment and enthusiasm exhibited by educators like Anne Hayden,
who received the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Teaching Award;
nominated by the principal of Oak Ridge High School, this notable
woman was selected from a large and talented field of entrants, and
her receipt of this prestigious honor entitled her to a $1,250
award, a bronze sculpture, and a new computer; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Excellence Award program is jointly
presented by The University of Texas at Austin College of Education
and the alumni association, the Texas Exes; Anne Hayden has made a
lasting difference, earning the respect and admiration of countless
students and colleagues, and her valuable efforts have made her a
truly worthy recipient of this honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Anne Hayden of Conroe on earning
the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Teaching Award and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the
years to come; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hayden as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
