R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Houston lost a beloved neighbor,
friend, and businessman with the passing of Alvin Otto Aschenbeck
on January 10, 2003, at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Aschenbeck was born in Lee
County on November 30, 1924; he married Marjorie Georgi Aschenbeck,
and over the years, the couple were blessed with five cherished
children; and
WHEREAS, After serving in the United States Army during World
War II, this esteemed gentleman joined the National Flame and Forge
Company, from which he retired as vice president after more than
three decades of service; and
WHEREAS, Alvin Aschenbeck was a man of integrity and
dedication, and while he will be greatly missed, his memory will
live on in the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives he
touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alvin Otto Aschenbeck
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
wife of 54 years, Marjorie Georgi Aschenbeck; to his children and
their spouses, Janet and Cliff Strickland, Bruce and Dora
Aschenbeck, Nancy and Ted Roeser, Judy and Michael Robbins, and
Alan and Lisa Aschenbeck; to his 13 grandchildren, Brent and Ellen
Strickland, Monica and Karl Aschenbeck, Andy, Dennis, and Mark
Roeser, Matthew, Caitlin, and Leah Robbins, and Kyla, Krista, and
Cameron Aschenbeck; to his sister, Lorene Sump; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Aschenbeck's family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alvin
Otto Aschenbeck.
