R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of Minority Business Entrepreneurs (MBE)
have traveled to the State Capitol on this day, April 1, 2003, to
participate in the organization's fourth legislative conference;
and
WHEREAS, Attendees of this year's conference include
multicultural minority business owners from across the state,
private sector supplier diversity professionals, and coordinators
of historically underutilized businesses in Texas; and
WHEREAS, During its visit to the Capitol, the group will meet
with many of the state's elected officials to discuss public policy
issues, including increasing business opportunities with state
agencies and the priorities of and challenges facing minority
business owners in Texas today; and
WHEREAS, Members of MBE contribute greatly to the cultural
and economic vitality and strength of this state by encouraging and
empowering Texas' minority business owners to strive for success
and to be actively involved in the legislative process, and their
efforts are to be encouraged and commended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize April 1, 2003, as Statewide MBE Public
Policy Day at the State Capitol and extend sincere best wishes to
members of the organization for an informative and productive
conference; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Minority Business Entrepreneurs as an expression of
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
