R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Marta Gonzalez-Stitts has been named San Felipe Del 
Rio Consolidated Independent School District Elementary Teacher of 
the Year 2002; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding teacher was selected to receive 
this award on the strength of her proven dedication as a mentor, 
motivator, and innovator in education, as well as for her ability to 
make learning fun and exciting; and
	WHEREAS, An art teacher at East Side Elementary School, Ms. 
Gonzalez-Stitts was recognized at the Third Annual Teacher 
Appreciation Celebration held at the Del Rio Civic Center; one of 14 
teachers nominated, this notable woman is widely admired for her 
compassion and concern for her pupils; and
	WHEREAS, With her students' welfare as the utmost concern, 
Ms. Gonzalez-Stitts exemplifies the best of her noble profession, 
and it is truly a privilege to recognize this outstanding educator 
at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Marta Gonzalez-Stitts on being 
named San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District 
Elementary Teacher of the Year 2002 and extend to her sincere best 
wishes for continued success and happiness in all future endeavors; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Gonzalez-Stitts as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
