R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Members of the County and District Clerks 
Association of Texas are visiting the State Capitol on this day, 
April 8, 2003, and it is fitting to take this opportunity to 
recognize this outstanding organization; and
	WHEREAS, Established in 1893, the association endeavors to 
promote professional standards, provide a means for the education 
of its members regarding their specific statutory and 
constitutional duties, and encourage their participation in the 
legislative, judicial, and executive processes of state 
government; and
	WHEREAS, The association's more than 400 members are led by 
Marc Hamlin, president; Jo Ann Chastain, vice president; Becky 
Wilbanks, treasurer; Beth A. Rothermel, secretary; and Gail Turley, 
past president; and
	WHEREAS, District and county clerks provide invaluable 
services to the people of Texas, and it is a pleasure to recognize 
their professional association at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend all those associated with the County and 
District Clerks Association of Texas for their commitment to 
excellence in their profession and extend to the organization's 
visiting delegation sincere best wishes for a memorable and 
productive visit to the State Capitol.
