R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is truly cause for a celebration,
and on April 5, 2003, Badora Caldwell of Austin is marking this
joyous milestone in her life at a party attended by family members
from throughout Texas; and
WHEREAS, This beloved lady is a respected resident of the
Capitol City neighborhood where she has lived for over 60 years; she
is a faithful congregant of Mount Sinai Baptist Church and has twice
served the National Baptist Convention as treasurer, an
accomplishment of which she is justly proud; and
WHEREAS, The devoted mother of six children, Mrs. Caldwell
today enjoys the love and affection of her large extended family,
which includes 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 12
great-great-grandchildren; in addition to her family, many friends
and neighbors delight in the friendship of this kindhearted
individual; and
WHEREAS, The birthday of Mrs. Caldwell provides a fitting
opportunity to honor this remarkable woman who remains an
inspiration to all who are privileged to know her; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Badora Caldwell on the momentous
occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her heartfelt best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Caldwell as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
