R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Seymour Ash and Mrs. Margaret Jeanne Ash of El
Paso recently marked their 51st year of marriage, and this
momentous event is truly deserving of special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Joined in marriage on February 25, 1952, in
Morristown, New Jersey, Dr. and Mrs. Ash soon relocated to El Paso,
where they have contributed immensely to their community over the
course of the past half century; and
WHEREAS, The couple enjoy a close and fulfilling relationship
that serves as an inspiration to their family, including two sons,
David Michael Ash and his wife, Helene, and Robert Brian Ash and his
wife, Gloria; Dr. and Mrs. Ash have embraced the joys of
grandparenting as they have welcomed David Michael Ash, Jr., and
Anna Marie, Kristen Nichole, and Kelly Elizabeth Ash to the family
fold; and
WHEREAS, Retired from a notable career as a registered nurse,
Mrs. Ash shared her expertise as a medical professional with
hospitals and schools and as a corporate nurse for a Fortune 100
company in El Paso; further, she was affiliated with the Texas
Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association and taught
junior and senior classes for the American Red Cross; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ash served as a member of the U.S. Army at Ft.
Bliss and earned the lasting respect of his colleagues during a
career in dentistry that spanned 51 years, until his 1998
retirement; he holds life memberships in the state and American
dental associations and is the recipient of a prestigious 50-year
award from the Texas Dental Association; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials
and triumphs of five decades, a significant milestone in their
lives that they celebrated in 2002, and it is indeed a pleasure to
join in honoring them on their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Seymour Ash and Mrs. Margaret
Jeanne Ash on the joyous occasion of their 51st wedding anniversary
and extend to them warmest wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. Ash as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
