R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Teresa Rutherford of Colleyville has been selected as 2002 Realtor of the Year by the Northeast Tarrant County Association of Realtors; and WHEREAS, A graduate of San Angelo Central High School and the University of Wisconsin, Ms. Rutherford began her career as a realtor in 1978 and has worked in the Dallas/Fort Worth mid-cities area since 1989; she has attained three designations in her chosen field: ABR--accredited buyer's representative, CRP--certified relocation professional, and LTG--leadership training graduate, the latter accorded by the Women's Council of Realtors; and WHEREAS, Ms. Rutherford and her real estate partner, Brenda Cole, form one of the top multimillion-dollar producing teams affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Southlake; while rendering exceptional service to her clients, Ms. Rutherford has also devoted many hours to such professional organizations as the Northeast Tarrant County Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and Builders Association of Tarrant County; and WHEREAS, Her extensive civic volunteerism has encompassed membership on the City of Colleyville's Zoning Board of Adjustment, Economic Development Task Force, and new high school task force, as well as membership on the Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine Women's Advisory Board; in addition, she has assumed leadership roles in the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce and the Texas affiliate of the American Cancer Society; active in the Republican Party, she also currently serves as a Tarrant County precinct chair and election judge; and WHEREAS, Among Ms. Rutherford's well-deserved honors have been a President's Award and Outstanding Service Award from the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce and a President's Award from the Women's Council of Realtors (WCR); in 1997 she was named the WCR's Woman of the Year and in 2000 she was nominated for Governor George W. Bush's Texas Top Women Leaders Award; and WHEREAS, Teresa Rutherford's outstanding efforts as a realtor, community volunteer, and politically active citizen have won her widespread esteem and affection, and she truly merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature congratulate Teresa Rutherford on being named 2002 Realtor of the Year by the Northeast Tarrant County Association of Realtors and extend to her warmest wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Rutherford as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
