H.R. No. 745
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Since 1948, the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club
has provided constructive after-school programs and activities to
young people in order to help them become productive, responsible,
and caring citizens, and it is a pleasure to welcome a delegation
from the organization's Pasadena chapter to the State Capitol on
this day, April 10, 2003; and
WHEREAS, With the 78th Legislative Session well underway, the
Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering visitors an
excellent opportunity to see their state government functioning at
its dynamic best; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy group and its sponsors will have a
chance to tour the Capitol and learn the fascinating history of this
monument to freedom and democracy; the outstanding collection of
art and documentation housed on the Capitol grounds provides an
exceptional source of information for those interested in the role
of state government and the chronicles of our great state; and
WHEREAS, The magnificent Capitol, with its impressive
rotunda and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting
for young and old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone
Star State and to gain insight into the workings of our state
legislature; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the members of the delegation from the
Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena on their interest in
state government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
informative and memorable visit to the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena as
an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
