R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Dr. Janice C. May is a highly respected professor of 
government at The University of Texas at Austin; and
	WHEREAS, Together with her American State Legislatures 
class, she plans to conduct simulated legislative floor sessions to 
broaden her students' understanding of how ideas can be transformed 
into laws; and
	WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily 
endorses the goal of encouraging Texans to learn more about the 
legislative process; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, in accordance with the house rules and with the 
policies and procedures of the House Administration Committee, 
hereby grant permission to Professor Janice C. May and the students 
in her American State Legislatures class to use the house chamber on 
April 13, 2003, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., provided that the house of 
representatives is not in session on that date.
