                                                                  H.R. No. 751



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, March 10, 2003, marked a significant milestone in 
the life of Mary Ann Pierce of Gladewater, for on that day she 
celebrated her 100th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Pierce was born in Chandler in 1903; she 
married Walter Lee Pierce in 1921, and the couple enjoyed a rich and 
rewarding marriage until his passing 63 years later; and
	WHEREAS, The proud mother of seven children, Mrs. Pierce has 
watched her family grow to include 25 grandchildren, 51 
great-grandchildren, 65 great-great-grandchildren, and six 
great-great-great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Blessed with a large and loving family, numerous 
friends, and a lifetime of wonderful memories, Mary Ann Pierce 
truly has reason to celebrate, and it is a pleasure to join in 
honoring her at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Ann Pierce on the joyous 
occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes 
for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Pierce as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
