R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jack and Betty Gilbert of Lindale recently
commemorated a special milestone in their lives when they
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony on March 6, 1953, at the Prairie
Creek Baptist Church in Lindale, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert have been
blessed with three sons; over the years, they have proudly watched
their extended family grow to include six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gilbert was employed with East Texas Savings
and Loan until her retirement; Mr. Gilbert is retired from Southern
Pacific Railroad, the Cotton Belt Route, and remains involved in
the cattle business; they are both active members of the First
Baptist Church in Lindale; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, this loving couple have enjoyed
an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family
memories, and it is indeed a privilege to honor them for all they
have accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Betty Gilbert on the
joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
