R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Spicewood lost a beloved neighbor and friend with the passing of G. W. Wood on January 29, 2003; and WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Wood was born in Holland on July 25, 1912; he lived in his family's home on Carpenter Bend between the Colorado and Pedernales rivers for 87 years and was an active farmer and rancher throughout his life; in addition, Mr. Wood worked as a valued employee of the Texas Senate during several legislative sessions; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wood was married to Mildred Singleton Wood for 56 years until his wife's passing, and he was fortunate to find love again, having been happily married to Donnie Adamson Wood for the past 10 years; and WHEREAS, G. W. Wood was an elder in the Spicewood Church of Christ and a devoted husband and father who made a positive difference in the lives of those who loved him and in the greater community; while he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of G. W. Wood and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Donnie Adamson Wood; to his sons, Colonel (Retired) Gail W. Wood and his wife, Patricia, and Dr. James Doyle Wood and his wife, Carole; to his grandchildren, Judi Wood Duvall and her husband, Shane, Amber Wood, Windy Wood, Jason Wood and his wife, Rebecca, Lori King, and Shari Eno and her husband, Paul; to his great-grandchildren, Skylar Duvall, Zane Covar, Danielle Silva, Gabrielle Silva, and Cari Eno; to his stepdaughters and their families; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of G. W. Wood.
