R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for a celebration, and on February 28, 2003, Paul and Ellen Nuckolls of Georgetown marked this momentous occasion in their marriage; and WHEREAS, Since they exchanged their wedding vows, Mr. and Mrs. Nuckolls have shared a close and fulfilling relationship that has been made even richer through the expansion of their family, which includes a son, Paul Nuckolls, Jr., and his wife, Madonna, two daughters, Jan Bauer and her husband, Benno, and Nancy White and her husband, Stanley, six grandchildren, and three great-grandsons; and WHEREAS, Mr. Nuckolls served his country with distinction as a member of the armed services during World War II; for 16 years until their recent retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Nuckolls were the owners and operators of a small Georgetown business, The Candle Factory; and WHEREAS, Faithful congregants of First Baptist Church in Georgetown, Mr. and Mrs. Nuckolls attended Second Baptist Church in Houston for many years and Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin before moving to Georgetown; and WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials and triumphs of 60 years, and their commitment to each other gladdens the hearts of their close-knit circle of family and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Paul and Ellen Nuckolls on the joyous occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Nuckolls as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
