R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, National Terrazzo Tile and Marble of Houston
received a high honor when the National Terrazzo & Mosaic
Association presented the company with the "Job of the Year" Award
in 2001; and
WHEREAS, The company earned this coveted award for its
rendering of the central mural on the rotunda floor of the Bob
Bullock Texas State History Museum; designed by artist Robert
Ritter, the mural is titled "The Story of Texas--Born Around the
Campfires of Our Past," and its high-level design, intricacy of
detail, and exacting degree of workmanship won over the
association's judges; and
WHEREAS, Victor Longo is the third generation owner of
National Terrazzo Tile and Marble, which was established by his
grandfather in the 1920s; an award-winning business, the company
has worked in nearly every state as well as several countries; and
WHEREAS, For more than 70 years, National Terrazzo Tile and
Marble has been characterized by quality work and superior
craftsmanship, and the receipt of the "Job of the Year" Award is a
crowning achievement for this venerable company; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate National Terrazzo Tile and Marble
on earning the National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association's 2001 "Job
of the Year" Award and extend sincere best wishes for continued
success to Victor Longo and all employees of this outstanding
business; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Longo and the dedicated employees of National
Terrazzo Tile and Marble as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
