R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The year 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, and this milestone provides a fitting opportunity to honor the memory of one of the individuals who helped to make this facility the renowned institution it is today; and WHEREAS, The late H. Robert Misenhimer, M.D., joined Texas Tech El Paso in 1975 as regional dean and as an OB/GYN specialist; this distinguished gentleman attended Northwestern University for his premedical studies, received his medical degree from George Washington School of Medicine, and later completed his residency at the Latter-day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah; and WHEREAS, Through his exemplary contributions to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Misenhimer helped to establish Texas Tech El Paso as a valuable resource for health care education and delivery for the citizens of West Texas, and his unwavering devotion to the well-being of his fellow Texans will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. H. Robert Misenhimer, whose outstanding service in behalf of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has ensured a brighter future for countless people; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family in remembrance of this esteemed man.
