R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The year 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of the
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, and this
milestone provides a fitting opportunity to honor one of the
individuals who has helped to make this facility the renowned
institution it is today; and
WHEREAS, During her 28-year tenure with Texas Tech El Paso,
Thelma Rodriguez was instrumental in the development of the
center's personnel office and was responsible for processing each
and every employee hired by the center; before joining its staff,
she worked for Thomason Hospital for 7-1/2 years; and
WHEREAS, Through her exemplary contributions to the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center, Thelma Rodriguez has helped
to establish Texas Tech El Paso as a valuable resource for health
care education and delivery for the citizens of West Texas, and her
unwavering devotion to the well-being of her fellow Texans will not
soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Thelma Rodriguez, whose outstanding
service in behalf of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center has ensured a brighter future for countless people; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
