R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The year 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of the 
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, and this 
milestone provides a fitting opportunity to honor one of the 
individuals who has helped to make this facility the renowned 
institution it is today; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Lloyd Mark joined the staff of the center in 1977 
as the sole employee in the radiology department; over the next 25 
years, he was instrumental in the department's steady growth, and 
he retired in August 2002, only to return 11 months later on a 
part-time basis; and
	WHEREAS, Through his exemplary contributions to the Texas 
Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Mark has helped to 
establish Texas Tech El Paso as a valuable resource for health care 
education and delivery for the citizens of West Texas, and his 
unwavering devotion to the well-being of his fellow Texans will not 
soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Dr. Lloyd Mark, whose outstanding 
service in behalf of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences 
Center has ensured a brighter future for countless people; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Dr. Mark as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
