R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tiffany Jackson of Duncanville High School has been named 2003 Gatorade Texas High School Female Basketball Player of the Year, and this honor is indeed well deserved; and WHEREAS, During her 2002-2003 senior campaign at Duncanville High School, Ms. Jackson averaged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 1.6 assists per game, and her many accolades include being selected as McDonald's State Farm Player of the Year, WBCA All-American, Sonic Player of the Year, and Chevrolet Player of the Year and being named to the Parade magazine All-America high school team; and WHEREAS, This remarkable young woman is equally dedicated to excelling off the playing floor, which is reflected by her membership in the National Honor Society and student council; in addition, she is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and teaches an elementary kindergarten class on Sunday mornings; and WHEREAS, A sterling example for all student-athletes, Ms. Jackson's relentless pursuit of excellence is an inspiration to all who know her, and it is appropriate that she receive special legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Tiffany Jackson on being named 2003 Gatorade Texas High School Female Basketball Player of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
