R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Dill, son of proud parents Peggy and Jeff
Dill, will achieve two significant milestones in his life when he
graduates from DeSoto High School and enlists in the United States
Army; and
WHEREAS, Ranked among the top 21 seniors at DeSoto High
School, Mr. Dill participated on the school's academic decathlon
team and earned a full academic scholarship to The University of
Texas at Dallas; and
WHEREAS, Choosing to pursue his goal of becoming an armored
division commander, Mr. Dill declined the scholarship and enlisted
in the U.S. Army; he reports for basic and advanced training on
August 20, 2003, at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and afterwards will be
stationed with the 1st Cavalry at Fort Hood; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional young Texan has worked hard and
studied diligently, and his decision to serve in the U.S. Army
demonstrates a rare maturity and deep commitment to his country,
making him a source of great pride to his family, friends, and
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jeffrey Dill on his graduation from
DeSoto High School and entrance into the United States Army and
extend to him sincere best wishes for future success and happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Dill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
