R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to recognize Michele Leal of Clear Lake for her exemplary work as a legislative intern with Representative Jessica Farrar; and WHEREAS, An alumna of Clear Lake High School, Ms. Leal is currently a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is majoring in communication studies with minors in Spanish and business administration; the daughter of Al and Mary Leal, this impressive young Texan plans to enroll in law school following her graduation; and WHEREAS, Administered by the Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University, the Texas Legislative Internship Program (TLIP) fosters academic study and research and offers supervised practical training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as program advisor, and his office staff helps to direct on-site activities; and WHEREAS, As a participant in TLIP, Ms. Leal has enhanced her knowledge of the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, while also gaining valuable work experience in a political environment; and WHEREAS, Michele Leal has demonstrated exceptional commitment and integrity during her tenure in the program, and she is indeed deserving of special legislative recognition for her contributions to the state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Michele Leal for her service as a legislative intern with Representative Jessica Farrar and extend to her warmest wishes for success and happiness in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Leal as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
