R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of Texas is pleased to join Rotary District 5870 in welcoming to the Capitol of the State of Texas the members of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Team from Brazil; and WHEREAS, Guillermo Pablo Souza, Jose Isaias Camaratta da Costa, Claudia de Vargas Francisquez, Luciana Teixeira, and Airton Andreis are participants in the Rotary's unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women; and WHEREAS, Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united in Texas and worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world; and WHEREAS, Rotary District 5870 has established clubs in numerous cities across the State of Texas and currently is being well led by District 5870 Governor Tom Chamberlain of Temple; and WHEREAS, District 5870 is involved in various other service programs such as Polio Plus, which endorses the goal of helping eradicate poliomyelitis worldwide in the most efficient and direct manner, and Ambassadorial Scholarships, which awards educational scholarships to candidates who will represent our country as ambassadors of goodwill during a year's study in a foreign country; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of Texas hereby extend hospitality to our visitors and honor the service of Rotary District 5870; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for our honored guests as a remembrance of their visit to Texas.
