R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Neal Robert "Zak" White IV of Boy Scouts of America Troop 233 in Waxahachie has attained the rank of Eagle Scout to the delight of his family and friends; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Award is a significant honor, bestowed on only a fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. White earned 21 merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to the local community; for his project, Mr. White collected donations and led a two-day effort to paint and refurbish the Waxahachie Optimist pool facility; and WHEREAS, A recipient of the Arrow of Light award, Mr. White has held a number of leadership positions during his scouting career, and his unwavering commitment to the organization's ideals has won him the respect and admiration of his peers; and WHEREAS, The son of Katherine and Neal White, this fine young man is a sophomore at Waxahachie High School, where he is a member of the band and jazz ensemble; in his free time, he plays baseball with the city's youth baseball league and works part-time at SkillsNet as a computer programmer intern; and WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout White worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and his achievement heralds what is certain to be a bright and promising future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Neal Robert "Zak" White IV on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. White as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
