H.R. No. 900
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The death of Euless physician Don Roger Warren on
April 6, 2003, at the age of 74, has brought a great loss to the many
friends, relatives, patients, and colleagues of this truly beloved
Texan; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 20, 1929, in Marshall, Dr. Warren
was educated at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston
and set up his family medicine practice in Euless in 1960; a
cherished friend and physician to many generations of
area families, he was for a time one of only two doctors in Euless,
and he will be long remembered for his three decades of service as
team doctor for the Trinity High School football program; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Warren, a licensed pilot who loved taking his
friends and neighbors on flights, proved himself to be a public
servant and medical professional of the highest caliber; in
addition to being the on-call emergency physician for the City of
Euless, this caring North Texan was an outstanding member of the
Euless City Council from 1964 to 1972; and
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to know Dr. Warren will
not soon forget the kindness, compassion, and integrity he brought
to every facet of his life, and although his presence is gone from
us now, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all
those whose lives he touched during his years on this earth; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Don Roger Warren and
extend deepest sympathy to his family: to his wife of 52 years,
Bettye Warren; to his son, Mark Warren; to his daughters, Lindsey
Warren Davis and Helen Kneebone; to his grandchildren, Jeremy
Downing, Ben Downing, James Downing, Zachary Kneebone, Alex
Kneebone, Turner Warren, Cole Warren, and Rachel Lee Davis; to his
sisters, Charlotte Matthews, Winifred Adams, Mary Starr, and Doris
King; to his brother, George Warren; and to his many other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Don
Roger Warren.
