R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An 85th birthday is truly cause for a celebration, and on April 27, 2003, Paul R. Ray, Sr., of Fort Worth is observing this significant event in his life; and WHEREAS, Born on April 27, 1918, in Minnesota, this esteemed gentleman is a highly respected resident of the Fort Worth area; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ray has long contributed to the betterment of his community, state, and nation through his role as a leader in the Fort Worth business community; in 1965, he founded the Paul R. Ray Company, now known as Ray and Berndtson, and today he continues his involvement with this premier international executive search firm that specializes in recruiting services for top-level executives; and WHEREAS, His participation in civic endeavors includes membership in the local Exchange Club, which focuses its efforts on community service, youth-related projects, child abuse prevention, and Americanism; and WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Ray enjoys a close and fulfilling relationship with his wife, Sarah, and takes great pride in his children, Paul Jr., Sarah, Peter, Anne, Breck, Beckie, Harriette, Christina, Mary, and Toni, 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and WHEREAS, For 85 years, Paul Ray has enjoyed a full life devoted to his family, his profession, and his community, and it is a privilege to join in paying tribute to this beloved man at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Paul R. Ray, Sr., on the joyous occasion of his 85th birthday and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Ray as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
