R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On June 8, 2003, the members of Union Memorial 
United Methodist Church, led by the Reverend Charles Monette, are 
celebrating 46 years of the church's service to residents of the 
Houston metropolitan community; and
	WHEREAS, "Family and Friends Strengthening the Love for 
Christ in Unity" is the theme of the day's festivities, which 
include a message by a guest speaker, the Reverend Leonard 
Barksdale from Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church; and
	WHEREAS, Today, the vibrant congregation of Union Memorial 
welcomes worshipers to its church home at 4712 Cavalcade, where, 
through various ministries, the church's pastor and members offer 
support, hope, and guidance to those in need; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Charles Monette and 
the laity of Union Memorial United Methodist Church on the joyous 
occasion of the 46th anniversary of the church's founding and 
extend to all those involved best wishes for a memorable and 
fulfilling event; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Union Memorial United Methodist Church as an 
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
