R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Each year the Star-Telegram in Arlington honors 
individuals who have made a significant contribution to the 
community with the Star-Telegram Awards Recognizing Service, or 
STARS; and
	WHEREAS, STARS nominees are selected on the basis of their 
dedication of time, effort, and distinguished service to the people 
of Tarrant County; and
	WHEREAS, Kelly Pace Bradley, the Northeast Tarrant County's 
Gertrude Tarpley Woman of the Year as well as a STARS recipient, 
founded Metroport Meals on Wheels in 1980; this admirable woman, 
who once prepared meals in her kitchen for local shut-ins, 
continues to help the organization, which served more than 51,000 
meals in 2002; and
	WHEREAS, The spirit of service is one of the most ennobling 
human traits, and by giving freely of her time and talents for the 
benefit of others, Ms. Bradley has truly earned special 
recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Kelly Pace Bradley on receiving a 
2003 STARS award and commend her for her noble efforts; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Bradley as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
