H.R. No. 947
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Lone Star State lost a beloved citizen when
Pablo Navarro of Zapata County passed away on March 21, 2003, at the
age of 86; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Navarro was born in Zapata County on April 28,
1916; a construction and migrant worker, he served as crew
supervisor for Watkins Bridge Company, helping to build numerous
bridges throughout Texas; after retirement, he raised cattle in
Zapata County; and
WHEREAS, On October 18, 1941, he married Maria "Angela"
Gonzalez, and they shared a special union until her passing on
January 1, 1975; their life together was blessed with three
daughters and one son, and the family grew to include seven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, A caring and supportive family man, Mr. Navarro will
not be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have known
him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Pablo Navarro
and extend deepest sympathies to the members of his family: to his
daughters and their husbands, Hermelida and Jose E. Amesquita,
Elvia and Javier E. Morales, and Enedina and Jose Rafael Montalvo;
to his son and his wife, Israel and Doris Navarro; to his seven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pablo
Navarro.
