R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 
who have shared 60 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 
notable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Benno and Ruby Bauer of Kerrville commemorated that 
significant event in their lives on July 12, 2002, when they were 
joined by family and friends for a celebration of their 60 years of 
devotion; and
	WHEREAS, The two began dating when Mr. Bauer was stationed at 
Fort Sam Houston and were wed on July 12, 1942, at Government Hill 
Methodist Church in San Antonio; and
	WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Bauer worked at the VA Hospital in 
Kerrville and Mrs. Bauer worked for the Kerrville Telephone 
Company; they continue to live in the family home that they built in 
Kerrville; and
	WHEREAS, The Bauers are blessed with four children, and their 
family now includes Benno and Jan Bauer, Bonnie and Charles Van 
Berg, Becky and Stan Rodarte, and Brian Bauer, as well as six 
beloved grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, For six decades, Mr. and Mrs. Bauer have shared a 
union filled with many memorable times and joyful family memories; 
their relationship is a source of inspiration to their family and 
friends, and it is indeed appropriate that they receive special 
legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Benno and Ruby Bauer on their 60th 
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bauer as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
