R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A delegation of seventh grade students from Joaquin
Junior High School is visiting the State Capitol on May 5, 2003, to
learn more about Texas government and history; and
WHEREAS, With the 78th Legislative Session well underway, the
Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering visitors an
excellent opportunity to see their state government functioning at
its dynamic best; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy group of youngsters escorted by
their principal, Jimmy Vickers, will have a chance to tour the
Capitol and learn the fascinating history of this monument to
freedom and democracy; their plans for the day also include a visit
to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for young and
old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and
to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and it
is a pleasure to welcome these students at this time; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Mr. Vickers and the visiting students
from Joaquin Junior High School on their interest in state
government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
informative and memorable visit to the Capitol.
