R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, August 27, 2002, was a day of special significance 
in the lives of Christina Nichola Lawell and Terry Alexander Lawell 
of Houston, for on that day they became the proud parents of an 
adorable baby girl, whom they named Rachel Nichole Lawell; and
	WHEREAS, This charming beauty weighed 4 pounds, 9 ounces, and 
measured 17-1/2 inches when she made her debut at 10:41 a.m. at St. 
Luke's Episcopal Hospital; and
	WHEREAS, Blessed with an irresistible smile and a winning 
personality, Rachel has brought great joy into the lives of her 
parents and many new admirers; she is the first child born to Terry, 
the owner and operator of Lawell Motor Sports, and Christina, a 
photographer, who now has an ideal subject with whom to perfect her 
professional technique; and
	WHEREAS, The long-awaited arrival of this beloved new Texan 
has touched the hearts of her entire family, particularly her 
maternal grandparents, Weldon Henson, Jr., and Linda Henson, and 
her paternal grandparents, Robert and Cresali Lawell; and
	WHEREAS, The birth of a child is always a momentous event, and 
the members of this chamber take great pleasure in formally 
announcing Rachel's birth and honoring her delighted parents; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby officially welcome Rachel Nichole Lawell as a 
new citizen of Texas and extend heartfelt congratulations to 
Christina and Terry Lawell on the birth of their cherished 
daughter; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Rachel and her parents as an expression of best wishes 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
