R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Neelam Davé Kulkarni has been named Pleasant Hill
Elementary School Teacher of the Year for 2002-2003; and
WHEREAS, A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Kulkarni
earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in
curriculum and instruction from The University of Texas at Austin
in 1996 and 2002, respectively; and
WHEREAS, She taught in the Fort Bend and Alief school
districts before joining the staff of Austin Independent School
District three years ago, and she has won the respect and admiration
of colleagues, students, and parents alike for her obvious love of
children and tireless devotion to her profession; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kulkarni's recent accomplishments include
serving as a mentor to other teachers, giving a presentation during
Capitol City Writes Training, and consulting with the Texas
Education Agency about her writing instruction techniques; she is
also credited with developing a popular spelling bee program; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding educator exemplifies the best in
her noble profession, and it is a pleasure to recognize Mrs.
Kulkarni at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Neelam Davé Kulkarni on being named
2002-2003 Teacher of the Year for Pleasant Hill Elementary School
and extend to her sincere best wishes for success and happiness in
the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Kulkarni as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
