R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Allen Norman of Ponder recently concluded his long 
and distinguished career in education, and his retirement as 
associate superintendent for administrative services at Birdville 
Independent School District truly merits special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Over the course of his stellar 34-year career, Mr. 
Norman has served as a teacher, coach, principal, assistant 
superintendent, and superintendent in school districts throughout 
the Lone Star State; and
	WHEREAS, This dedicated educator has participated in a wide 
range of professional organizations on the local, state, and 
national levels and has deservedly received a number of 
professional recognitions and prestigious appointments; and
	WHEREAS, With his retirement, he can look forward to spending 
more time with his cherished family, which includes his beloved 
wife, Betty Kay, as well as two children and three grandchildren; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Norman exemplifies the highest standards of 
teaching and education administration and, at the conclusion of his 
outstanding career, he can reflect with great pride on the positive 
and immeasurable influence he has had on countless young people; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Allen Norman on the occasion of his 
retirement from Birdville Independent School District and commend 
him for his notable contributions to education in the great state of 
Texas; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Norman as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
