H.R. No. 991
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Bill Gaines of Montgomery from the
Texas Department of Criminal Justice concludes a distinguished
21-year career; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gaines began his tenure with the State of Texas
working at the Texas Department of Welfare, where he was employed
for one year in the Child Protective Services Department; and
WHEREAS, For the next 20 years, he made numerous significant
contributions while serving with the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice; during that time, he worked in the divisions of internal
affairs, health services, contract construction, and, ultimately,
facilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gaines intends to maintain his polygraph
services office in Conroe, and he will undoubtedly enjoy spending
extra time with his beloved wife, Debbie, and their daughter,
Treasure; and
WHEREAS, For more than two decades, Mr. Gaines has committed
himself to making the Lone Star State a better place to live; he has
earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and is a source
of pride for the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill Gaines on the occasion of his
retirement from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and extend
to him sincere best wishes for success and happiness in the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Gaines as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
