R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On March 11, 2003, the Children's Sports Foundation 
held an awards banquet at Meadowbrook Apartments to recognize 
children for their scholastic and athletic achievements; and
	WHEREAS, Founded by the Housing Authority of the City of 
Austin (HACA) commissioner, Jackson Cole, the Children's Sports 
Foundation has provided activities to more than 800 resident 
children of public housing; the foundation has sponsored baseball 
teams, a basketball league, fitness and weightlifting activities, 
flag football, instructional clinics, jogging and track programs, 
recreational softball, sports education, and a volleyball league; 
and
	WHEREAS, At the awards banquet, the Children's Sports 
Foundation presented a trophy and a framed photograph of the 
Meadowbrook Rebels basketball team to HACA to show appreciation for 
the organization's continued support; and
	WHEREAS, The Children's Sports Foundation has been a source 
of myriad benefits to the youth of Meadowbrook, and Mr. Cole and his 
staff are truly deserving of special legislative recognition for 
their hard work and commitment to the betterment of the community; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor the Children's Sports Foundation and 
extend to all those associated with this exemplary organization 
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Children's Sports Foundation as an expression of 
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
