R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A delegation of teachers and students from Liberty Elementary School in Eagle Pass is visiting the State Capitol on May 7, 2003, to learn more about the seat of Texas government firsthand; and WHEREAS, With the 78th Legislative Session well underway, the Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering visitors an excellent opportunity to see their state government functioning at its dynamic best; and WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School has as its mission "to allow all students an opportunity to expand the frontiers of their mind academically, physically and emotionally," and their visit to Austin today is certainly one very positive way in which this mission is being addressed; and WHEREAS, This noteworthy group of Liberty students and their sponsors will have a chance to tour the Capitol and learn the fascinating history of this monument to freedom and democracy; the outstanding collection of art and documentation housed on the Capitol grounds provides an exceptional source of information for those interested in the role of state government and the chronicles of our great state; and WHEREAS, The magnificent Capitol, with its impressive rotunda and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young and old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend the visiting students and sponsors from Liberty Elementary School on their interest in state government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an informative and memorable visit to Austin; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
