R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Students and teachers from Stephen F. Austin
Elementary School in Eagle Pass are visiting the State Capitol on
May 7, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Rated exemplary for the last four school years,
Austin Elementary School has as its mission to provide a
challenging, meaningful, and well-balanced curriculum and to
produce students who will exhibit success in all their endeavors,
and providing its students an opportunity to tour the Capitol and
learn about the historic building is an excellent means of
addressing this worthy goal; and
WHEREAS, The outstanding collection of historic art and
documentation housed in the Capitol and on the grounds is an
inspiring source of information for those interested in the people
and chronicles of our exceptional state; and
WHEREAS, With the 78th Legislative Session well under way,
the magnificent Capitol, with its impressive rotunda and
distinctive pink granite facade, is the scene of great activity,
and it offers visitors an excellent opportunity to gain insight
into the workings of our state government; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby welcome the visiting students and sponsors from
Austin Elementary School and commend them on their interest in
state government; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Austin Elementary School as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
