R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Anita S. Jones has for many years sought to raise the
awareness of her fellow citizens on the subject of chronic fatigue
immune dysfunction syndrome by bringing pertinent information to
the public; and
WHEREAS, Also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, this
debilitating disease affects over 800,000 Americans and can present
its victims with a variety of symptoms, including substantial
impairment of short-term memory, constant fatigue, sore throat,
muscle and joint pain, difficulty concentrating, and restless
sleep; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jones and her daughter are victims of the
syndrome, which can masquerade as many other illnesses; her battle
is not only with the disease itself, but with the lack of available
information provided to the general public; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jones has devoted countless hours to help
others who are struggling with chronic fatigue syndrome, and she is
truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Anita S. Jones for her efforts to raise
public awareness of chronic fatigue syndrome and provide a brighter
future for its victims; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
